America is Drunk

November 21, 2008 - 23 Heshvan, 5769

The 2008 election cycle has provided conclusive proof that God’s Judgment has fallen on America. First I shall show that God makes individuals nations in a drunken stupor just before He judgeas them then I will show that this is fact the case with America. The primary Scripture text that relates to the nations getting drunk is Jer 25:15-29 We read that God gives Jeremiah the cup of the wine of God’s wrath. He is to pass this to the nations to get them drunk. Why? Drunkenness involves getting into a stupor.

In literal drunkenness alcohol depresses the parts of the brain that are involved in sound judgment and rational thought. Alcohol makes it’s victims temporarily stupid. The meaning of the imagery is that God will render evil individuals and nations stupid after they repeatedly reject Him. Once this happens people become brainwashed by the prevailing cultural current is moving at the time. Once a nation is made drunk it’s people cannot be reasoned with by logic or facts.

The Power of Multiplication

September 24, 2008 - 24 Elul, 5768

The parable of the sower (Matthew 13:3-8;18-23) is an excellent example of the power of multiplication. Here we find that that the seed of God’s word is sown in four types of hearts. The first three types of hearts do not produce fruit:Those who do not believe, those who do not become rooted and grounded in the word, and those who are not steadfastly devoted in love with God but are distracted by the cares of this world.

The key to bearing fruit is the proper spiritual formation. Things like understanding and claiming God’s promises through confession (Matt 12:33-35; Rom 10:8-10; 2 Peter2:2) will strengthen our faith. Prayer and worship, both personal and public will strengthen our relationship with God. Bible study allows our minds to be rooted and grounded in Scriptural principles. When we do these things, the Word that is planted in our hearts will produce much fruit.

The nature of the production of fruit is that of multiplication. We are told that the good heart produces 30, 60 and 100 times. This has implications manifold for individual success and for reproducing our selves through evangelism.

The charter below should illustrate the power of the principle of multiplication. Let’s say that you start a group with just a few people and you set a goal to reach at least 2-4 people a year per member. Let’s say that we keep 25-50 percent of these. Doubling a year would yield this. The following table assumes a 100% growth (2x) a year. I believe this is a conservative estimate

The key to maintaining this is to have people committed to this vision and to constantly train people in proper spiritual formation. This is how the New Testament Church multiplied. They multiplied from  120 people in AD 30 to 1 million people at AD 100 (http://answers.google.com/answers/threadview?id=320929)

This averages to a  average annual  multiplication of about  5x (400% growth a year!!!!) rather than merely doubling. The key to keeping people committed to this vision is the right spiritual formation in people.

Think out of the Box

August 22, 2008 - 21 Av, 5768

The Children of Israel got a lesson in thinking outside of the box when God delivered out of bondage through the hand of Moses. After the ten plagues and after the Passover, when the Israelites reached the shores of the Red Sea, they found themselves in a predicament. The sea was blocking their path in front of them and the Egyptian army was pursuing them from behind. They were in what seemed to be an impossible situation. (Exodus 14)

Thou Shalt Not…Not Judge

May 11, 2008 - 6 Iyar, 5768

Matt 7:1 is one of the most misinterpreted passages in the Bible. It is often used by worldly people as a cover-up for evil. A closer study of this passage will reveal that not only is it wrong to use this text as a defense of moral relativism but that it is impossible NOT to judge.

Patterns of the Saints

April 7, 2008 - 2 Nisan, 5768

When one studies the lives of the saints in the scriptures, a clear pattern commonly emerges as they walk towards victory. There are three stages as they fight the good fight of faith. There is the initial move of faith followed by a season of trials in the wilderness. At the end of this season the child of God reaches the turning point where God brings the victory.

Does God Call Women to Preach

March 8, 2008 - 1 Adar II, 5768

Are women called to preach? What does the Bible say. In this installment I will comment on the passages that are often used to argue against women preaching. We must rightly divide the Word of Truth rather than read the culture or subculture into the text. The entire case against the ordination of women is based on an interpretation of these two passages. The first passage is 1 Timothy 2:11-15 and the Second is 1 Corinthians 14:34-35. This installment will examine what these passages really say.

Speaking the Truth in Love

January 19, 2008 - 12 Shevat, 5768

The New Testament, in it’s emphasis on Biblical unity in the Church, instructs us to develop intimate relationships among the brothers and sisters. We are to develop relationships where we fall head over heels in brotherly love towards our brothers and sisters in Christ. There are three principles that govern how to safely and effectively achieve intimacy among members of the Body of Christ: Trust God to place into our lives those with whom we are to have relationships and trust Him to arrange them in the proper relations with us, Speak the truth in love, and flee selfish desires. In this installment I am writing on the need to speak the truth in love to our brothers and sisters.

Practicing Brotherly Love

December 28, 2007 - 19 Tevet, 5768

The New Testament, in it’s emphasis on Biblical unity in the Church, instructs us to develop intimate relationships among the brothers and sisters. 1. Trust God to Bring people into Your Life in the Proper Relations.
  2. Flee Fornication and other Selfish Ambitions.
  3. Speak the Truth in Love
  4. Brotherly Love Produces Holiness.

Beware of Men!

December 8, 2007 - 28 Kislev, 5768

We must guard against the wiles of the Devil and the craftiness and sleight of men while living the Faith Driven Life. Satan is a slick and cunning serpent, who does his worst work by infiltrating the church. The devil will send false apostles, false prophets, false teachers, and false brothers who intentionally masquerade themselves as Christians. Jesus warned us to beware of men. Pat Robertson Commits Spiritual Adultery

November 12, 2007 - 2 Kislev, 5768

I wrote in Open Letter to Operation Save America that the 2008 election season will witness high profile Evangelical leaders taint themselves with the blood of the unborn by supporting pro-abortionist Guiliani. Consider the following

The election season will see Radical Pro-abortionists Rudolph Guiliani and Hillary Clinton as the major party nominees for President of the United States. While the church has already compromised in voting for the lessor of two evils[1] This would present a clear choice between standing up for the righteousness of God and striving to maintain political power at any cost. Most of the high profile ministries will taint their hands with the blood of unborn babies. The will still be pro-life in their rhetoric but in practice they will exploit people’s fear of persecution by Hillary Clinton, using her track record of retaliation on anyone who gets in her way, to drum up support for Guiliani. Most Evangelicals will buy into this and get the blood of unborn babies on their hands. When this happens it will be the last straw and God’s judgment will fall on America[2].

It has already started. Pat Robertson has endorsed Guiliani. Michael Reagan has written an excellent piece on why Pat Robertson has compromised. Reagan says that it is about the money and power. Pat Robertson is simply protecting his interests. Another way of putting it is that Pat Robertson is committing spiritual adultery. He is abandoning Biblical Principles and Christian Morality for expedience. To use Biblical imagery he is having sex with the Great Harlot (Rev 17-18)

I wish I could say that he will be the only one to commit adultery in Guiliani’s political bed but I doubt it. As the Guiliani-Clinton showdown takes form fear of the wrath of Hillary Clinton will drive many Evangelicals into Guiliani’s political bed. Prepare for one big orgy. This orgy will be the last straw. God’s wrath will fall on America.

I challenge anyone reading this to resist the temptation to vote for the so called lessor of two evils. I will not vote for either Guiliani or Clinton. We must seek first God’s righteousness. there is a blessing on those who trust God but a curse on those who trust in man and in human alliances(Jer 17).
