Purpose-Driven Orthodoxy
Although it is impossble for anyone to live The Purpose Driven Life it is not impossible for people to think of their life or church in those terms. What the church is failing to adequately consider in their perceptions of life or church as being The Purpose Driven is that purposes are not self existent. Someone must define these purposes. Rick Warren tells us the The Purpose Driven Life and The Purpose Driven Church are of God. Such a claims must be examined closely. As we shall soon see, the Purpose-Driven paradigm undermines recognition of Biblical authority and installs a new orthodoxy and a stealth apostleship

Purpose Driven vs Faith Driven
Rick Warren's best-selling book, The Purpose Driven Life, is rapidly transforming Evangelicalism. In just a few years, Warren has recruited 60,000 churches to become Purpose - Driven Churches. At the average attendance of about 102 per church that means that 6 million. This number was only 40,000 churches last year. At 50% a year growth of churches by the year 2012 much of Protestantism will become purpose driven. For this reason it is very important to understand what this purpose driven movement really is. Is it of God or not?

Godly offices
In Eph 4:11-16 We are told that God has ordained some to be Apostles, some to be Prophets, some to be Evangelists, and some to be Pastor-teachers

Man appointed offices
In the local church we see a plurality of elders and deacons, recognized by the Church as anointed of God and accorded the respect of leaders

The Unity and diversity of the Body

Spiritual Gifts
God gave to the church ordinary and extraordinary supernatural gifts and manifestations to be used to build up the church

The Function of Ministry
It is the function of God's Ministers to do the work of ministry, equip the saints and build up the body

The Outcome of Ministry
When God's Church is functioning properly then people will speak the truth in love-We will attain to the perfect and complete person, attain the fulness of Christ

The Overcoming Church
The Overcoming Church is one where all gifts and offices are used properly so that each person contributes to growing up in Christ and staying faithful to Him.
