The Rejection of Truth

Note:This page is still under development.

According to John 3:16-21 there are two groups of people; Those who do iniquity and those who do truth. hatred of and rejection of truth is the barrier that prevents people from coming to God. As we shall see, mass rejection of truth is the mark of the last generation-with only a remnant embracing truth. Read More

The most basic question facing people is whether they will do truth or their own selfish, corrupt, sinful ways. When Jesus tells the goods of how God loved all pf the people of the world to Nicodemus he placed everyone into two cate gories:those who did evil and those who did truth.

John 3:16-21 KJV  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.  (17)  For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.  (18)  He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.  (19)  And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.  (20)  For every one that doeth evil hateth the light, neither cometh to the light, lest his deeds should be reproved.  (21)  But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be made manifest, that they are wrought in God.

Notice that evil is contrasted with truth. Those who love the  truth come to the light. what happens when one who loves the truth come to the light. That person's  deeds are outwardly manifest. The outworking of his deeds shows that God produced the deeds through the actions of one who comes to the light. When one comes to God his life becomes rooted and grounded in God.

Being grounded in God is absolutely important because the creation was created  with everything grounded in God. God as Creator was the foundation of everything that He created. The very act of creation implies this very thing!

When man rebelled this relationship became disconnected. Man became disconnected on both an intellectual and moral level. It is not enough to eliminate the ignorance as Enlightment and New Age proponents say. Man needs a revolution in his will. He needs to once again receive a love of the truth so that he or she will come to Jesus for salvation and eternal life. When someone who has received a love of the truth comes to Jesus, he becomes able to do the deeds of truth and other can see that God is working through him.

The contrast of these two groups escalates as we go deeper into the end times here are several passages to bear this out

Romans 2:5-8 KJV  But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;  (6)  Who will render to every man according to his deeds:  (7)  To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:  (8)  But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,

Again we see the contrast between obedience to truth (Righteousness is truth as it applies to morals) and obedience to unrighteousness. Here we read that whether one receives eternal life or anguish depends on whether one devotes himself to obeying the truth and unrighteousness to fulfill his wants or  fears.

2 Thessalonians 2:7-12 KJV  (7)  For the mystery of iniquity doth already work: only he who now letteth will let, until he be taken out of the way.  (8)  And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:  (9)  Even him, whose coming is after the working of Satan with all power and signs and lying wonders,  (10)  And with all deceivableness of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved.  (11)  And for this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  (12)  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

This passage tells that the forces of evil are now restrained from running their full course. At some time in the last days this restrainer will be taken out of the way and then the worst evil to ever befall the earth will happen.

Many people believe that this verse is talking about the rapture, however this verse gives no hint of physical removal of anything. This passage only require that God quit attempting to restrain evil. A comparison with Rom 1:18-32 tells us that the restraint is removed simply by God ceasing to deal with corrupt consciences. As people continue to suppress the truth God eventually quits trying to argue with their conscience and let's them think whatever they want until Hre destroys them with His wrath. The restraint is removed by God giving people over to  strong delusion, that they should believe a lie:  (12)  That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness .

Romans 1:18-32 KJV  For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness(19)  Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them.  (20)  For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:  (21)  Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.  (22)  Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,  (23)  And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.  (24)  Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves:  (25)  Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.

(26)  For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:  (27)  And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet.  (28)  And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;  (29)  Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,  (30)  Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,  (31)  Without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:  (32)  Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

This passage is saying that people are supressing the truth. The Greek word translated ' hold the truth in unrighteousness ' means to hold down or suppress the truth. People know what is the truth but choose to reject it. They willfully choose to rebel against and oppress the truth

G2722
κατέχω
katechō
kat-ekh'-o
From G2596 and G2192; to hold down (fast), in various applications (literally or figuratively): - have, hold (fast), keep (in memory), let, X make toward, possess, retain, seize on, stay, take, withhold.
From Strong's Exhaustive Concordance

How does God respond to those who wilfully reject the truth. God eventually gives them over to do whatever they want. (At least until He destroys them in just judgment) Their consciences and minds become corrupt and they will believe any lie they want. when this happens they begin to indulge in every vile abomination conceivable.

Every generation has had some peole who are given over to a reprobate mind. However, im the last generation this becomes pandemic. Entire populations are given over to a reprobate mind, leaving only a remnant with minds, eyes, and ears open to God.It is this group that God gives over to a strong delusion.
