The Don't s of Imprecatory Prayer
There are several times in the Scripture where our desires for retribution are restrained.God put these there because he knows the vengefulness of the human heart. He knew that if people realized that power is to be had in imprecatory prayer, the would immediately attempt to call down God's wrath upon their personal enemies. As this study will show, passages that are often taken as absolute calls to pacifism are really limitations on how imprecatory language is to be used in spiritual warfare.

Guidelines for Imprecatory Prayer
Imprecatory Prayer can really be a haven for some nutty people. There are people who approach Imprecatory prayer reminescent  to the character Jules in Pulp Fiction. Every time he killed someone he who quote (actually misquote) Ezekiel 25:17 just before killing them. Jules wasn't the only one who didn't get it. Jesus disciples needed some guidelines about Imprecatory prayer. The message of the gospel was rejected in one town and the disciples asked Jesus if they could call fire down from heaven to destroy them.

Praying for Justice
There are many in the church that have been taught that both prayers for judgment and the ministry of judgment went out with the Old Testament and God does not do the terrible judgments of the Old Testament today. We are told in many quarters, that God is now about love and redemptions and no about judgment.

However, God's love and redemption must be seen in the context of His Law and Judgment.We are living in an age where an increasing number of people will not listen to reason. It is also  becoming increasingly difficult to appeal to righteous authorities-because there are no righteous authorities among earthly governments and political movements. God is our only hope for advancing justice or rescuing the oppressed. We are to seek God's power to bring justice  for the oppressed. We must wage spiritual warfare against Satan through imprecatory prayer-prayers for judgment. We are not to seek the harm of people or gloat over the misfortune of the wicked. God does not take pleasure in the death of the wicked. But advancing God's justice and destroying the works of the devil will inevitably involve human casualities.
